We are the Ukrainian Masters Ski Team, which founded the Kozak Drive charity foundation, and this is a new stage in our volunteer activities. What are we doing? From the very first days of the full-scale war on our land, we have been actively involved in helping Ukrainian refugees and the military, and at the same time we started working with the international ski community to raise funds and impose sanctions against Russian skiers. We conducted practical training in tactical medicine for medics, police and TRO forces, and contributed to the purchase of necessary equipment for the military. The captain of the Ukrainian Masters Ski Team, Tatiana Peneva, organized a reception and free accommodation for more than 3,000 refugees from the East and South of Ukraine in Bulgaria, and collected donations from Bulgarian citizens for the needs of our soldiers: as a result, 300 bulletproof vests and helmets were sent to the front line. In addition, Tatiana coordinated fundraising to purchase professional equipment and gear for Kharkiv rescuers of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine. And, of course, we kept in touch with our fellow skiers from Mariupol, Bucha, and Irpin. We immediately provided the necessary financial assistance to those who suffered in the first month of the war. Another area of our work is active cooperation with the professional skiing community in Europe, which has already raised about 140 thousand euros for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The list of aid purchased with these funds includes quadcopters, thermal imagers, generators, food, medicine, etc. No less important for us is the information front. Our team's coach, one of Ukraine's representatives in the International Ski Federation (FIS), Ihor Lapikov, has been coordinating communication with international federations of ski athletes and instructors since February 25, which has allowed us to achieve the almost impossible - an official ban on Russian professional skiers from competing in international competitions, as well as a ban on ski instructors from the aggressor country from working in Europe! Throughout the eleven months of the war, Igor Lapikov has continued to communicate with professional and amateur skiers from all over the world, spreading information on a daily basis about what is really happening in Ukraine today and what crimes the aggressor is committing on our land. Another member of our team, a medical professional by training, Oleksandr Korneiko, has been implementing tactical medicine protocols in Ukraine (TCCC protocols) since 2014: since the beginning of this full-scale war, he has resumed practical training for medics, police, and TRO participants. What are our plans for the future? - As we continue our volunteer activities in the new, expanded format of the Kozak Drive Charitable Foundation, we plan to to deploy large-scale support for our defenders, as well as civilian victims of the aggressor, thus contributing to our common victory over the enemy.
