Dmytro Kryshovsky. During his school years, when the wave of street art was sweeping the world, he started painting on the walls of houses, and immediately in a large format. Perhaps the gray walls had something to do with it – they inspired him to “save” them and give them a second life, and eventually led him to art. Currently, he works in the areas of graphics, painting, poster, and graphic design. Ethnic images came to the artist against the backdrop of a full-scale war with Russia. Thus, terrible realities gave birth to new symbols. In 2022, he worked on a series of works called “Motanka” created with ink and resonating with the palette of feelings of people who experienced the tragedy. A motanka is an ancient Ukrainian folk toy, a doll amulet that has no face. Something cozy and familiar turns into something unfamiliar and distant. But later you realize that she will not hurt her own people, she is ready to take up arms.
